The Center For Living In Harmony is a nonprofit educational and charitable organization
dedicated to the promotion of Self-Reliant, Harmonious Living. Our work to promote harmony with self,
with others, and with the needs of our planet takes place at Little Creek Acres, a 10-acre demonstration
farm for sustainable agriculture. At Little Creek Acres Farm there are dairy goats who know their names,
sheep & chickens you can visit, cats that talk to you, dogs that love to be petted, an orchard, raised gardening beds, and greenhouse.
Participants in the Fun on the Farm! programs join in the activities of life on the farm as part of the Little Creek Acres farm family. Activities include working with the animals, the garden, the orchard, and the farmstand. The lap-pool, Ping-Pong, hiking, and goatwalks provide additional fun and keep things moving quickly.
There are two programs to choose from. Participants in both programs receive a service-oriented "seed-to-mouth" experiential learning opportunity that is unfolded throughout the week-long residential program as they learn to make crepes from the eggs of the chickens they have tended; and harvest food for others from the garden they have helped to grow. Daily journaling reinforces and preserves the experience.
Wholesome is the word that best describes the activities, the food, the environment, and the experience! Give your child (or someone else's) a treasured memory of growing and learning while having Fun on the Farm!

The One Week, One Youth program gives youths ages 7-17 a special opportunity to experience
family farm life in a dynamic environment of individualized attention and hands-on learning.
While group environments have many benefits for learning and growing, some youths get lost in the group; some become swayed by negative peer pressure or intimidated by competition, and some do not benefit to the maximum of their individual potential because of the differing development rates of the group.
The one-youth-at-a-time format is especially designed for those youths who may blossom more positively and fully when given individual attention and learning experiences away from a peer group environment.
Honoring the individual in a natural and caring environment nurtures self-esteem, the underlying ingredient for success in any endeavor, and particularly for building Self-Reliant, Harmonious Living skills.
In this seed to mouth experiential learning opportunity, youths learn to make cheese from the milk of the goats they have cared for, and they learn to make crepes from the eggs of the chickens they have helped care for, and throughout the week the youths work to prepare a brunch for the parents at the time of pick-up. This endeavor is tremendously empowering. The children also help to grow and harvest food for charity. In addition to the hands-on gardening, animal husbandry, and earth stewardship experiences, responsibility, communication, time management, service to others, and accountability are among the Self-Reliant, Harmonious Living skills practiced during the week while having Fun on the Farm!
The Fun on the Farm! week begins on Sunday afternoon and ends the following Saturday. To be eligible, a letter must be written by the youth introducing him or herself and explaining why they would like to spend a week on a working farm and what aspects they are looking forward to most.
A nonrefundable deposit of $50 will reserve a choice of dates for two weeks. Participants will be scheduled upon receipt of full payment. Medical and Liability Waivers are required. Please call 760-749- 9634 for available dates.
